Brentwood Junior String Orchestra

Brentwood Junior String Orchestra was formed in January 1990 to give children up to 11 years of age who play a string instrument (violin, viola, cello or mini bass) the opportunity to experience the fun and enjoyment of playing together in an orchestra.  They have had some exciting opportunities including playing in the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Brentwood Junior Wind Band

Brentwood Junior Wind Band provides ensemble playing for young woodwind and brass players.  Members are between 8 and 13 and remain members until they are ready to progress to Phoenix Flames Orchestra or the Jazz Band.

Phoenix Flames Orchestra

This is our training youth symphony orchestra for the less advanced players of secondary school age.

Phoenix Youth Orchestra

Phoenix Youth Orchestra is the "flagship" of BOYM and is a youth symphony orchestra for more advanced players.  Members are teenagers from 13 to 18 years of age.  Entry to our Youth Orchestra is by audition/invitation.
Conducted by Stephen Rumsey.

Jazz Band

This is an opportunity for young musicians to learn to understand and play jazz music.  It gives plenty of opportunities to learn and improve improvisation skills.
