View all orchestras Brentwood Beginner StringsBrentwood Beginners Strings is a fun, elementary introduction to the skills and disciplines of orchestral playing.
The orchestra is for beginner players on all orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello and bass) up to eleven years old. It is hoped that the children will be able to progress to Brentwood Junior String Orchestra when they are ready which, in most cases, is grade 2 standard for violinists, violists and cellists; and double bass players when they can cope! Our Conductor: Ann Elderton runs the Beginners Strings, as well as BJSO. She is a well known violin teacher in the area and is very keen to help all young musicians enjoy their experience of playing in an orchestra. She is assisted by other string teachers at each rehearsal. Rehearsals: The Beginner Strings meet for two hours on two or three Sundays during each term. Times of sessions vary between 10.30am and 4.00pm at the Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School in Queens Road, Brentwood. Fees: The fee for each term is £24 per term, to be paid by Standing Order. |
